You didn't say what wireless device you have, so visit 2Wire.com (http://www.2wire.com), locate your product model under the product section, and read the specifications.

For a wireless device to not be Wi-Fi complaint, it would have to be really old, pre 802.11a or b, or support only a wireless technology proprietary to the vendor.
