First of all : you ALWAYS have to clean the air filter from lint before running any drying cycle.
Lint can cause unnecessary heating up, fire, equipment failure, and it cost money for extra electricity use.
It also may cause your thermostat to cut out.

There can be many causes for this problem.

The heating element can be faulty.
The thermo switch in series with the heating element may have cut-out because of overheating.
The power breaker feeding the dryer may have cut-off.

You did not state if the drum is rotating if you start the dry cycle. Please let me know if that is so.

Success!
As always : if you require more info, please let me know. If this solves your problem, please rate the answer provided! Feed back is always appreciated!
