My husband's mother has a credit card that she has stopped paying and has now been delinquent for 60 days. My husband has a secondary card on the account but has never used it. The credit line has never been on my husband's credit report before when it was current and up to date now that it is delinquent it is showing up negatively on my husband's credit report. We are currently in the process of purchasing our first home. Is this going to create a problem for us unless we take on the burden of paying her debt? Or is there anything we can do to get this taken off my husband's credit report and not be held liable for a debt my husband did not take part in creating? Please help as we just got accepted for the house we really want!!

He should cancel that card right away, I think?

Yes it can show up as negative on his report, that is allowed.
