I'm 2 days late from starting my period, when should I take pregnancy test?

First thing next morning with the first urine of the day.

I disagree, a home pregnancy test that you purchase over the counter, should be used a week or 2 after a missed period. HCG (the hormone you produce when pregnant) is detected in urine about 2 weeks after conception. A blood test is more accurate.
You may take a test tomorrow morning (the first urine in the morning is correct, because it is the most concentrated) and it may give a false negative. In other words, you MAY be pregnant but there may not be enough hCG in your urine yet for the home pregnancy test to detect it.

charlotte234s disagrees: This is why you test twice or more if it is negative, or go to a doctor to get a blood test, waiting 2 weeks means you're already 6 weeks pregnant before you may even know, not really what anyone wants to happen.

Of course visiting a doctor is the best option, though that wasn't her question. Testing more than once or twice is fine (if you want to keep buying HPT's and spending money) or the smarter approach is to do what is recommended by the product insert of the pregnancy test and what is recommended by the lab's urine pregnancy test standards, and get the more accurate results a week after your missed period. I am not saying she won't get a positive if she is pregnant, I am just saying what is recommended. And there is no way for you to assume when the date of conception is, therefore you cannot assume she is already 6 weeks pregnant. Unless you are aware of the exact day she and her mate conceived the possible child. She could be 4 days pregnant, or a week, or 2 or three ore more. Understand. I am not meaning to come across rude, this is just my field of practice and I am trying to give this young lady the best, most accurate advice.

Charlotte, I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you here.

Now, for the OP... 2 days is not even considered late by any means. Stress can cause you to be late, weight gain or loss can cause you to be late, just to name a few.

You need to wait at least another week or two before testing. When you test you need to use first morning urine as it contains the highest concentration of hCG (pregnancy hormone).

Good luck, and I hope you get the results you want. ;)

A pregnancy test CAN NOT tell you the truth to pregnancy until one to two weeks AFTER a missed period! It will give you a reading, but it can be wrong just as much as it can be right.
It is so normal to be late! It is normal for a woman to miss a whole period. DO NOT go take a pregnancy test and believe what it says, it is more wrong then right.
The best is to wait two weeks, take the test with the first flow of urine in the morning. No matter what it says, if you still want to know, then go to a doctor.
A blood test is 100% true, but no doctor will do it until you are at least two weeks past when your period was due.
Never suspect being pregnant so soon.

Okay, I was always really regular and took a pregnancy test after my period was 4 days late when I was pregnant with my son, and two days late when I was pregnant with my daughter, and both test came out positive and were correct, I have the kids to prove it. :) I also tested positive 3 days after my missed period with my third pregnancy (which ended in miscarriage). There are home pregnancy tests that can detect the HCG hormone up to 4 days before a missed period. But I think it all depends on how regular you are. That's been my experience.

Having said that, listen to J9, she knows what she's talking about, or go to a doctor for a blood test if you are really concerned.

Alty, you are the exception to the rule. What happened to you is not as common as one would like to think.
