I am trying to get a hardship withdrawy from my 401K and my mortgage is 2 months behind, because It does not state that it is in foreclosure, they will not give me the money from the 401K, what should the letter say?

The letter should state that, if payment is not received by x date, then foreclosure proceedings will start.

Can you take a loan instead? EVen if you qualify for a hardship withdrawal, you are still subject to the 10% penalty and taxes on the money withdrawn.
