I get 5-10 calls a day, and it is really getting krazy, is there anything I can do?

Yes, you can definitely stop them from calling and deal directly with the original creditor only if you wish. Send the collection agency a cease and desist letter. You can find all of the information here...

1. Pay them
2. disconnect your phone
3. get a unlisted number
4. write them a certified letter telling them not to contact you by phone any longer

If it's the SAME collection agency calling you that often, you have a lawsuit against them---IF you talk to them every time.

If you're letting your machine pick it up, or you're identifying them only by your caller ID, you're SOL.

Your best bet is to make some sort of payment arrangement with them, but there ARE laws about how often and WHEN a collection agency can call you (NEVER before 8 am, and NEVER after 9 PM). You can find these laws at your local library.

My guess is that it's either different collection agencies calling, or you're not talking to them when they DO call. They know they can lose everything by breaking those laws--all it takes is ONE person to document it and report it, and they're out of business.
