Hey all I have portible airconditioner to cool do my network roomm and for some reason today it was blowing hot air I checked my settings? No heat but air condition only no heat mode. One day I looked at the coils and they were frosted up. Can a portable air condition do such a thing. Please help my servers are over heating. PLEASE HELP thanks...

Check for a dirty filter
Check for a dirty condenser and evaporator coils.
Completely defrost and then put back in operation and see what it does.
Unit could have developed a leak that will need professional service.

I always recommend that server rooms have a extra unit just in case of failure.

Time for professional service. I will say that sometimes it is better just to replace the unit depending upon what you have.

If the unit is 2 months old send it back and get a new one. Since there was a serviceman out there and they did not fix it what do you expect us to do one this board?

There is probably a overcharge of refrigerant now since you said he put more refrigerant in it. When he opened the sealed system for service he should have fixed the leak to start with just not add refrigerant.

I have no further advice on this except to say you have been giving advice on the heating board to other people. Follow your own advice and call someone that knows what they are doing since your repair will take a service person on site at your server area to effect a repair.

I know a lot about thermostats and central air not portable air condition Good news the service guy was out again and he fixed the leak and put more freon in it and now it works like a charm
