Facts

F-1: Jun 2002 to Dec 2007
F-1 Opt: Jan 2007 to Sep 2007
H1B: Oct 2007 -
Citizenship: Rep. of Korea

Questions

1. What federal tax return form should I use? May 2007 marks 5 years in the states.

2. How do I separate F-1 Opt and H1B income? Or is that not even necessary.

3. I owned real estate (till end of last year) in one state but lived and worked in another. I am assuming I have to file two state tax returns. In addition, I received half month's pay from my old school that is dated 2007 so technically I have two W2s. I guess I just combine them, right?

Thanks so much for your help~!

1) Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ; you are a resident alien and must file a normal tax return.

2) You do not separate the income.

3) You need file a second state tax return only if you had rental income from the real estate in the second state. Yes, you combine the W-2 income on your tax return.
