Ok, well I've only been playing guitar for about 3 months now. I have tought myself everything I know, and I'm not very good at it. I can only read tablature and it takes FOREVER to learn something new. I want to learn how to read music, but don't have enough money to go to a tutor for it. What I'm asking, is there any way I can do this online for free and is it easier than reading tabs?

Learn Chords and memorize it. Then practice switching properly.. then when your fingers get used to it... learn strumming patterns and from there you can even improvise and make your own song. G D E A C are good chords to learn and many rock songs revolve around those.

I've been playing guiter 6/7 months, I'm getting a tutor soon but I (and two of my friends) just get chords and tabs of the internet. Just practice and memorize chords, all you have to do is practice a lot. Good luck!

Try YouTube for some how to videos. My daughter is 6 and is taking private lessons in Guitar. I don't know how to play. To learn to read the music she brought home, I sought help on YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. (http://www.youtube.com)
