I saw this movie in 1993 or 1994 on TV. It was color. The action took place on a distant barren planet (probably Mars?? ). There it was a military/research base with a laboratory. Then there were these monsters which took the form of big balls and they were turning towards that base. The monsters had the form of big balls only when they were moving. They were monitorized through radars and often was starting the countdown: "They are approaching: 12 metres...7 metres...3metres...". Inside that base there were soldiers and scientists (in the lab). I remember one scene in an elevator, when one of the monsters killed in a disgusting way a soldier or a scientist.
When the monsters penetrated the base, they killed a big part of the crew. It was a big contrast when the blood of the scientists was flooding those white surgical coats which they were wearing.

Could it be "The Killings at Outpost Zeta" (1980)??

It isn't "Aliens", neither "Screamers" (1995).
