I recently had Comcast install a new digital box to my analog TV. Prior to this installation, I had a VHS recorder/player hooked to my TV and was able to record and play back what I taped. After the digital box installation, I am no longer able to record a program from any of the channels (old analog channels nor new digital channels). The recorder runs as though it is taping but there is no picture on the playback. The current hook up has the input cable coming into the digital box and a cable going from the digital box to the VHS recorder. A cable also connects the output of the VHS recorder to the TV. Can I hook this so the VHS recorder will record and play back, or do I need to buy a new digital DVD/VHS recorder?

Check the channel on the TV, in some cases, the VCR will output the signal to channel 3 or 4 unless it has it's own designation such as video 1 or video 2.

In some cases, it must be on say channel 3 or 4 to display the signal.

Also, check the TV/VCR button and see if that helps.

You should be able to use this unit.

Good Luck.
