I have a JD LX176 14.5 hp w/Kawasaki engine. It started and ran great until I put a new front draft arm to level the deck, as it was bought used with the draft missing. As soon as this arm was installed, I turned the key and it tried to turn over, then "JUST STOPPED". Since then, it has not turned over except by jumping the terminials on the solenoid. I have been unable to locate a safety switch for the deck and the electric PTO is off. Any ideas will be appreciated??

Check grounding at the solenoid mounting bracket, to the frame/body.

Check for blown fuses.

Well, did you get it going?

Finally got the JD LX176 starting. I feel really stupid. It took way too long to find that the small wire from the positive battery terminal to the switch was corroded and simply lost connection. It along with the battery cable were covered by the rubber boot, once found I reattached it and it starts normally. At least I'll know to check this first in the future.
