Hi Friends,

I was looking for travel deal to India last summer. I have placed an ad in Sulekha.com - Connecting Indians worldwide. Read write Blogs, Groups, Classifieds, Yellow Pages, Movies, Travel (http://www.Sulekha.com) and one guy contacted me saying that he would give me the best deal because he has some relations with the Airlines.

I got the ticket for 1000$ and I have transferred money through BOA.

After 6 months the airlines has sent me a letter stating that the guy who used the credit card
Claimed it as fraudulent transaction and the airlines has mentioned me to send a check of 5600$. Or they will send it to through a Third party agency..

So the guy who gave me the ticket had stolen a credit card and bought me a ticket.

Can any one suggest my Plan of Action...

Please don't get into this kind of traps...

Thanks..

I think this is very serious and may take serious action -- put them behind BARZ!!

Unless you can locate the person who stole the credit card, bought the ticket and sold it to you I don't think there's anything you can do. You must have an address if you sent him money - have you provided that to the investigative branch of the airline?

I am also confused about the $1,000 price - I see ads for round trip air fare to India for $600 and up in my local newspaper all the time.

Hi

Thanks for your replies.

I have sent a letter stating that I have bought the ticket through this person.

I was trying to call this guy but no Phones worked and I have sent an email but there was no reply.

I have his Bank of America account details.

600$ it depends because there are direct flights from places like New york to New Delhi which is Non Stop and also 600$ may be before taxes and after taxes it may come to 1000 bucks. If it is a travel agent they will definitely charge to your credit card account.

Should I still go and complain to the FBI. Or should I wait for the response from the Airline Company.

Thanks...

Well first you did not buy the ticket from them, you merely used this ticket, So I don't think they can even collect the money from you.
They have a claim against the person who actually bought the ticket.

I would say that I would tell them no, see you in court.
