I went to a beauty school and had my hair colored a dark brown that was too dark. Four months later I went back to lighten the color. She did two bleach treatments for color correction and then colored my hair. It is now a wretched shade of brown with orange and red. I haven't left the house in four days. She put the color on my hair 5 days ago. I have a Redken Color Gels color and developer. Can I recolor it at home with the professional salon products? How long should I leave it on? Is it too much stress on my hair? If I try to strip the color with dish soap will my hair be the color it was when it was bleached? I have to do something, what do you suggest? I've already spent too much at the salon and I'm not going back there.

You can use blue-base ash hair color that's close to your current hair color to neutralize the orange hue in your hair. I recommend leaving the hair color application in your hair for 10 minutes, then wash it out.
