Hi,
I left US in April 2007 and I have non US source of income since May 30th 2007, I am in India since then, Based on my previous experience with e-filing I e-filed the returns using 1040A. My e-file status shows as Accepted.
Now I realize my mistake I think I should have filed 1040NR, Now since the status is Accepted what should I do or 1040A should be OK.
Thanks in advance

Did you file your 2006 tax return? Which form? What was your visa status when you left the U.S.
Yes, it appears that you can't file resident return for 2007. You will need to file 1040X along with properly done nonresident (or dual status) return.
Also the Accepted means, accepted as filed. It can always be reviewed or audited.

Thanks for your response,
I e-filed 1040A, I was in US on L1 visa since June 2005. However my Visa had expired but I-94 was valid.
Since I already e-filed 1040A does it affect now ? What should I do ?

You left the U.S. in 2007 so you are not U.S. resident for whole 2007. Also on a resident return, one must report world wide income for whole year.
Normally, you must amend your tax return. For 2007, your status is Dual status. You will not get standard deduction.

On a nonresident return, you don't get exemption of kids.
