I have had financial trouble over the last 2 years. I'm just now starting to be able to pay all of my min. payments on my credit cards however most are in collections and one is at a law firm. This is the one I'm concerned about. They tell me that I need to pay the full amount or I will be sued and this needs to happen now! The amount I owe is about 8,000. This is more than I have and more than I can bare to ask my parents for. What do I do? They will not accept any kind of payment plan. Either pay all of get sued which I know will add about 5 grand onto the amount I already owe. Please help any suggestions are welcome!

If your question was in reply of if they will sue me the answer is yes. I am looking into a counceling service. I hope to talk to a councelor today. However, I'm afraid they can't help me with this situation but rather just get my other credit cards on track. Any suggestions of what I can do to prevent being sued?

Hello cc:

Yeah, they tell you have to pay the full amount. But, talk's cheap. I'll bet if you had $2-4K in your hand that you were about to send them, I'll bet they'll listen to your offer.
