Can my bank totally garnish all of my wages in my bank account for payment on my wife's credit card without even considering my livlihood?

Oh yeah. I had a friend who wasn't even married to this guy, well he owed back child support. Somehow they went to her account and took out the money causing her to be
-2000.00. I don't know how they could have done this to her for they weren't even married. I am sorry this happened to you. Take the credit cards away now... lol No really I hope everything works out for both of your best interest.

How much of my bank account can a Bank garnish? Is there a certain percentage?

No, there is not a percentage. They will garnish until they get reimbursed.

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

Your bank can't garnish anything, Only a court can order a garnishment. Your wages cannot be garnished for a debt you didn't sign on, unless you live in a commuinty property state that holds the debts of one spouse are the responsibility of the other spouse. However, if your wife is a joint owner of your bank account and a creditor obtains a judgement against her, they can secure a writ to attach the entire account.
