I have a friend that had a miscarriage 3 mo. Ago and they are thinking that they may have left the placenta inside her. Could this cause any physical harm to her??

Yes, If the placenta is left inside, it could cause continued bleeding and possibility of infection. A D&C is the usual solution to the problem.
