Does your entire hand go numb? Do you do a lot of computer work? If it's just in your ring and little finger, it could be your ulnar nerve in your elbow. If it's just the thumb through middle finger, it could be carpal tunnel. I've had carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists and 2 surgeries on my left elbow due to a data entry job I used to have. If you rest your elbow on a surface for very long and on a consistent basis, your ulnar nerve in your elbow can become trapped causing the numbness and tingling. Or it could be a problem with your neck. I'd encourage you to check with your Dr. They may need to run a Nerve Conduction study. Good luck to you.

Numbness and tingling could be due to several things, so unless you go to a doctor you won't know which natural remedy could possibly help.

You need a diagnosis before you can select a treatment ;)
You may not need drugs, or herbal therapy at all but you won't know until you go to a doctor... good luck!

Yep it is best to get a diagnosis so you know if it is circulation or a nerve or whatever and then it would be easier to tell what alternative meds would work.

For your personal well-being, I suggest you consult with a Physician before you attempt to treat yourself without a Physician’s advice. Primary reason being numbness and tingling is a symptom of Diabetic neuropathy, when high blood sugar levels begin to destroy nerves sending signals to the brain. Garlic may improve circulation, but your continued high blood sugar levels may begin to cause damage else where and worsen your present damage, as it seem when you are not using garlic as a remedy. On another level, second to most important, numbness in the arm or leg can be a symptom of multiple sclerosis (MS), which usually gets worse over time, and is caused by a simple bacterial infection.

Several patients, with MS, report having symptoms up to seven years before being diagnosed. Patients, mainly women, who get treated early with drugs, such as beta interferons, usually have a slight reduction in symptoms and retain their ability to live normal lives. Don’t get me wrong, garlic does have it own set of beneficial health properties, but just have a Physician rule out any serious medical ailment.

Eating garlic regularly helps reduce blood pressure, triglyceride levels and LDL (bad cholesterol) – and might increase HDL (good) cholesterol levels. Garlic is also an anti-inflammatory that can help control arthritis. It has also been know to decrease the incidence and severity of bacterial infections. However, the particular bacteria in MS, may not be effected by garlic.

There, still, may be a possibility your condition has not gotten to the point of not return. If you decide to pursue medical help today, you may permanently relieve the numbness and tingling in your arm.

Hope this answers your question!

Hey Pinkgecko

You should definitely consult a doc. Your condition can worsen. It probably involves the PNS system. It could invlove your radial, ulnar or median nerve. After you see the doc, he/she may recommend you see an occupational therpist.

Take care
