My 1 year old furnace (mid-efficiecy Goodman) has an induction motor which will kick in and allow the burners to start. The burners will flash on and then shut down quickly. Induction motor will kick on again and then the burners. It might shut off again but then the blower starts and the burners will stay on. Heat will eventually be brought up to and held at the temp requested. Also, the induction motor is very loud with it starts up.

I would say you need a new motor, good luck, Mike

If your unit has a flame sensor I would try to clean it or just replace it. Your induction motor is probably under warranty since Goodman has a 5 year warranty on parts.
