Me and my dad don't get on
Years ago it was just I didn't like his girlfriend but got over that and we are friends now we talk and I keep her informed about his grandkids send photos and tell her what's going on in mylife etc
Me and my dad have had are ups and downs -he didn't like moyboyfriend-didnt like me going out to late if I stayed there like he wouldn't let me go to the phone box at 10pm at 18 years old had big argument-another time didn't like myboyfriend and he fell out with me again
My dad and I hadn't spoken in along time but his girlfriend would tex and call me,anyway I went over in December 06 for 3weeks I was going to post some christmas cards in the door and leave,I got to the door and stood there just looking at the door after afew minutes I just went in[myfriend was in the car with myson waiting for me] mydad was on the PC I said hi and he looked really happy to see me he woke his girlfriend up who was asleep on the sofa and I brought myson and friend in we stayed awhile went to see mystep sister aswel and we left on agood note.
But last February I moved back to england with my eldest son it was abig mistake,my dad and I hadn't spoken in along time before decembers holiday but his girlfriend would tex and call me,anyway my son stopped eating,continuosly shouting for his nanni,wouldn't sleep screamed all night,wouldn't play he wasn't his self at all I took him to the doctors and the doctor said he could be home sick
Plus the reason I moved back wasn't working either so I planned with myfamily to come back home to ireland I didn't tell my dad I was leaving because he would have tried to talk me out of it and we would have ended up arguing and I didn't want to leave on abad note,I think he thinks I did it on perpose let him meet his grandson then take him away from him that wasn't it at all I moved back for myson[i think that's why he's hurting and mad at me]but he won't speak to me nor will he tex me I have tried he changed his number all I have is there address.I now have another son and mydad has never met him I've told his girlfriend they can come and visit but he won't come I want my dad to be part of his grandsons lives if he doesn't want to be part of mine fair enough I did try,but he's taking this out on his grandsons aswel and its not fair on them uno I have aphoto on mymantal piece of mydad and myeldest and everyday I pick myson up and tell him that's his grandad [EVERYDAY] because I want them to no he's their grandad but how can I get him to be part of their lives and come and visit them
I can't afford to travel its along way with 2young kids and just 2hands I have to travel by boat and coach that's afull days traveling setting off at silly oclock from logford arriving at 1am in hollyhead and manchester at 5am its too much for 2 young children
I never meant to hurt him I was just trying to do the best thing for myson and myself but this has just gone way to far,its not fair that mykids are missing out on agrandparent when he's alive and well and fit for travel I even offerd to help pay for tickets fot him and his girlfriend to visit and I'm asingle parent with bills up to myeye balls but I offerd to help pay for tickets
Plus his girlfriend mentions me and he just stops the coversation dead in its tracks like I've done something really really bad

Has anybody got any ideas??
Other than sending him aletter which he'll probably chuck in the bin

Can you get his girlfriend to talk to him and tell him you want to patch whatever up?

Tried that she said he doesn't want to hear it cuts her dead in the coversation
Its doing myhead mysons are missing out on avery important person who should be playing apart in their lives
