I need help understand and knowing how to solve this problem. If you could help me I would appreicate it.

A small city park consists of a rectangular lawn surrounded on all sides by a 330 m2 bordeer of flowers 2.5 m wide. Find the area of the lawn if the entire park is 5m longer than it is wider.

Did you make a picture?

Here's one way to set it up.

The width of the entire park is w, therefore, the length is w+5.

The area of the garden is then w(w-5)

So, we have \underbrace{w(w+5)}_{\text{whole thing}}=\underbrace{330}_{\text{flowers}}+w(w-5)

Solve for w.
