I am wondering if anybody can help me out answering this question. I want to move out of the apartment where I am living at now but I do live with a roommate. I call the office and the office told me that I will have to bring my roommate with me with her proof of income and they have a Roommate Release Form in which we would both sign in front of the Representative. I spoke to my roommate and agree upon doing it but she has been giving excuses and I have applied at another apartment complex. Would this interfere with me trying to get the new apartment?

I am still going to push her on signing that Release Form. Does anybody knows about legal matters???
If you have a lease - and I would say you do - you are tied into the lease payments until it expires or until the apartment complex releases you.
This shouldn't keep you from getting a new apartment - if you can afford to pay for both apartments if your roommate refuses to sign OR the complex refuses to release you.
Your roommate really cannot be "forced" into signing - she either will or she won't and legally you cannot push her.

Judy laid it on the line for you. One thing you might be able to do if your roomie won't release you is find another roomie to take up the slack.
