Hey you
I'm looking to buy a set of walkie talkies just for fun, I'm not intending to go hiking or anything... I'll probably give one to a friend of mine who lives probably maybe... 10km's away roughly.. I should probably look that up first...
But I want a walkie talkie so I can communicate with her and just mess around... I've heard that the signals are way weaker in urban environments which is quite a problem because she lives in the city and I live slightly furthur out in the suburbs (this is brisbane, Australia by the way) do you think there's any walkie talkie's that have the capabilities to go this far? If so which brands should I look up?

Yes, there are walkietalkies with this range.. when you look at walkietalkies it will state the range. The higher the range the higher the prices. Now, in some cases you may get interference due to locations but if so return it.

I had a set of walkie talkies on time -- but they were big and unreliable -- it seemed

Like if you could see a person -- you could talk to them -- when they disappeared

-- they were out of range... Took them hunting -- they were worthless -- put them

Back in the box and never used them again...

What I'm going to suggest is a program on the internet called Pal Talk...

They have 100's of rooms -- people from USA , UK, Canada and Many Aussies

You can go to a room that is already created or make your own room...

People from all over the world are on there -- they chat or text with people from

All over the world -- many have video cams and they chat online with others...

I like their computer help rooms -- you enter a room and can listen and learn --

Or raise your hand and get advice on computers and other gadgets...

You just have to download the program -- there are also help rooms to help you

Get Pal Talk working if you need them.. Stop by and say G'Day :)
