Can eating a few grapes every three hours and then eating a normal meal for dinner cause starvation mode to kick in?

Yeah, I'd say so. Also skipping breakfast is the worst thing you can do.
Read this, is summarises a study of teens who skip breakfast vs those that don't
BBC NEWS | Health | Breakfast 'keeps teenagers lean' (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7275554.stm)

You should aim to eat every 3-4 hours and that will stop your metabolism form slowing down.

Even if you end up eating more calories you will loose more weight/ maintain a healthy weight this way.

In addition grapes don't contain all the nutrition you need. This will cause your body to have cravings and cause health problems.

The famous nutritionist, Adele Davis, said, "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper."

Avoid white foods like sugar, flour, marshmallows, potatoes with gravy or butter or sour cream, cream cheese, sour cream and all those other yummy things that aren't white but are loaded with calories. "A diet without white is a fat loss delight!" Eat lots of color -- green peppers, red tomatoes, yellow and green beans, green broccoli, red beets, brown rice, orange sweet potatoes and squash, blueberries, red cherries, green grapes, red and green apples, orange oranges (lol), and other fruits and vegetables.

Drink lots of water.

Find reasons to walk. Park at the far end of the mall, take the stairs instead of the elevators, twice daily walk a dog or walk with a friend who has a dog, walk instead of riding in a vehicle, clean house with lots of bending and stretching, choose five exercises to do religiously three times a week and twice a day.

Do all this for two months and watch what happens!

So... you asked 4 questions regarding starvation. Look through all of them. What do the majority say.. I think it says something along the lines of...

DON'T FREAKING DO IT!

... now. May I ask (other than the obvious "I want to lose weight") if there's another reason why you are wondering about starvation mode?

If you want to lose weight, starvation mode is... probably a bad way to go. It's right up there with "acquiring malaria + dysentery." If you want to lose weight, diet + exercise (I believe I put up a relatively detailed answer in one of your four questions).

Eat small and sensible meals (3 - 4 times a day) and try to maintain a 300 - 400 calorie deficit per day... and do as wondergirl says... exercise. Get off the comp, get off your couch, and go do something.

Eating a few grapes every couple of hours and eating a normal meal for dinner will let you lose weight... but will also let malnutrition and other problems creep in. Your metabolism will significantly decrease during the day.

I agree. Next time try to ask this questions in one post or thread.
