Hello,

I just purchased a Lexmark X6570 Printer(wireless printing, faxing, photo printing, scanning, copying, and printing all in one). I now need the help of others who own this printer as well because I'm not sure if I purchased a faulty/damaged printer. I have installed the printer and performed as test and it works just fine.

However I am wondering did I purchase a faulty/damaged printer.

The reason why I ask is because of the following reasons:

1a. I raised the Contol Panel as instructioned to do in the manual but I notice that now it won't go back down. My question is when the Control Panel on this printer is lifted does that lock it in the upward (tilted) position which means that it can not be lowered?
1b. Or should you be able to lower the Control Panel as well?

2. I also noticed with my X6570 printer the lid that should be lifted for copying or scanning has to be lifted completely up. I am unable to lift if half way up and it just hold it's position. I have to lift all the way up and allow it to rest on the Paper Support thing. I thought that I should be able to lift it up half way and it just hold it's position like I've seen in photos of this printer.
Can you please tell me if the copying/scanning lid on my printer is broken or is this how it's suppose to be?

Please let me know do I need to exchange this Lexmark X6570 printer due to it's faulty/damaged.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

If you purchased the printer within 90 days, call Lexmark support and ask for a new printer. For all you know it may have been handled by the gentle hands of Attila the Hun and his friends and family.

Did u try pushing in the pat that holds the CP up? ( if there is one) mine is a all in one 2470 and when u change the ink u lift the scanner and it latches, u have to push in the latch to release it to go down.. see if that works just a guess
