I have a question. I am not with my daughters father for the past 4 years. I have always claimed her. 2 years ago I was married, and this year I had another child. He is telling me because I have another child now, he should be able to claim my daughter so that we both come out of it with money. He lives in his parents basement with no bills, while I am trying to support a family. She only goes to his house on saturdays. What do I do? Can I just say no?

She lives with you and you obviously provide more than 1/2 her support (since she only sees him on Saturdays) so you get to claim her.

Only the custodial parent can claim the child. If the child lived with you for more than 6 months in a year, then you are the only one who can claim her unless there is a separation document or court order or your allow your ex to claim the child.
