The easiest way would be with a thumb drive, or external hard drive.
These hold much more information than a CD or DVD will.
If you mean connecting one to the other, I have no clue how that works?
You can find a 2 Gig thumb drive that just plugs into a usb port for around $20-40.

If it's text data you may be able to send it through email, but I would suggest getting an external hard drive to transfer all the files to, and then transfer them from there to the desktop computer. If it's small files, use a flash drive, but if it's music, pictures, etc. get another hard drive.

You might even think about a home network , your lappy more than likely has a wireless connection which should connect to your router ( providing you have a router ) , if not you can connect both via a CAT5 cable then share any files you like.

I would recommend using FolderShare (http://foldershare.com) if they are both Windows XP.

You should use an external hard drive as the other guys said. But I've also saw something, I have never used it but it allows youto connect 2 computers and allow file sharing. It's a wire and both computers have to be on.

The "wire" your talking about is probably a Cat5 cable which only costs about £5.00 :)

Allright so its possible I figured out a way of doing this and I find it pretty cool , you should try downloading the GMAIL drive, it helps for saving everything I like it a lot:) :) the main thing about this is that you can access this from any place in the world, any computer...
