I need to fit a new extractor fan in the shower room, as the old one burnt out due to water ingress.
The fan I have to install has two connections to attach to the wiring coming from the ceiling,
The wiring from the ceiling is in the form of two thick grey wires, having a red and black in each there is also another wire from both thick grey wires that has been entwined together. Would this be the neutral?
Which colour is the live wire??
The fan instruction say I do not need a neutral conncetion as the fan is double insulated.

Assistance appreciated
Eddie

Don't believe everything you read. Double-Insulated means you don't need a ground.

The two entwined wires are probably bare and therefore ground and connected to the box.

Am I correct so far?
