Hello:
I have a 57" Sony HD ready TV. It is aprox. 5.5 years old and it started showing horizontal concave red lines on the screen when watching a TV program or cd movie. Is this something that I should be worrying about and start saving money for a new TV, or is there a fix for this. Doubt it.
Appreciate your expertise.
Thanks.

I'm no genius when it comes to repairing TVs, but nobody else seems to have given you a response, so I'll tell you my opinion.
Is this TV LCD or Plasma? Either way, plasma and LCD TVs made 5 and a half years ago are no where as reliable as the ones made today. It could be that your TV is on the way out. It could be an easy fix. Whatever it may be, understand that it will not be cheap to get fixed. No matter what, you will need to send the unit to a qualified technician or the original manufacturer. The fix (not to mention transportation in itself) will most likely be expensive.
It never hurts to try resetting all of the settings on the television, probably an option somewhere in the menu. I doubt this will do anything for you but it's worth a try. Hopefully someone with more experience with these units can give you further advice.

No actually it is an easy fix, just Google "red lines across tv fix" There are step by step directions that are easy to find. Basically you just have to take off the front panel of your TV and adjust the red knob which is all the way to the right on a little box with two other knobs for green and blue on there. Hope this helps. Remember Google is your friend!! 8~)
