I have never used this site before so I hope I am doing it right. I have a question about pornography and how to know if it requires treatment. I am dating a man who looked at magazines and watched pornographic movies about 15 years ago when he was in the Navy. He told me he did it maybe once a month but hasn't looked at pornography in at least 10 years. He said he does get tempted at times but is able to quickly push it away. I am wondering if I should be worried and if he requires treatment for something he did so many years ago. How do you know if it is a problem.
Thank you

No by the what you are telling me. He does not need any kind of treatment and it is nothing to worry about. I would say he is like 90 % of other males who do the same thing. Yes, it can become an addiction and yes if it was interefering daily then seek help but not something that he told you about years ago. Please do not worry about this. Be supportive. Joe

I occasionally look at porn myself. If it's a problem... he'd be on the computer, or going to strip clubs, or have several magazines. I say... when you are over at his place... look around. Check the bathroom for porno magazines. Does he have a computer? Tell him to log on for some bogus reason... then wait until he leaves the room and check up by the go on the search button and check the last sites he went to. I'd trust him first, and just keep your eye out. I think most people look at porn some time in their life. Good luck.

Hi,
I remember seeing something like this posted, maybe in another category.
I wouldn't be worried about it. That was many years ago.
We all have done some things in our past.
Best of luck.
