Hello. A friend contacted me today and asked me if I can't maybe help him find a investor or investors for the restaurant that his opening. He had investors lined up but because one of there factories burned down they are unable to follow through with the investment. I have never done something like this before and any help or answers will be appreciated.

Thank you.
Eugene.

You can look for investors anywhere anytime but unless you have the business plan from your friends it isn't going to help. They should be looking in their own area (are you from their area, you don't say). If you are soliciting here, it isn't going to work.

The single most important move you can make is to find the 'rarified true consultant', in the risky, subjective and tumultuous restaurant business - even if you are doing a franchise or fast-food. I have found Invest Dining Solutions (http://www.InvestDiningSolutions.com) through some serious contacts I made by networking in the industry. It is based in New York City. Anyone without any past experience, or for everyone who is currently flailing, there is no other option if you plan to stay in business or be in business in the near future.
Everyone is looking for, restaurant investors, so it takes seed capital from you/friends and family to approach IDS to develop a business model and concept in order to have any chance from the beginning.
