My bathroom sink is leaking where the exit pipe enters the larger pipe in the wall. When the water is running pretty hard, the water just pours back out. Is the pipe too long, too short or something else.

Teresaluthor... there should be a chrome, brass or plastic nut that attaches the pipe from sink to pipe in wall.. yes?

That nut will probably need to be loosened and then see what shape the washer underneath the nut is in.

May need to replace both washer and nut... but for now, loosen, check washer... pipe dope the joint, and then try to retighten the nut and washer tight and see if that did it. Let me know.. ok?

Uh, there is no nut or washer where the pipe enters the wall. Small pipe going into larger pipe that is it.

What kind of pipe is there? CAn you post a pic? Sounds like a soldered joint may have gone bad.
