Hello!

Anyone out there have any suggestions as to how I unstick a stuck parking brake on a 1991 Civic. I am in the boonies with no mechanical knowledge. Any help would be greatly appreciated.. The car is stuck sideways in the driveway, and only the front left wheel seems to be moving freely. The rear tires seem to be locked... I am assuming it's the parking or emerg brake... Help! :

First, try loosening the parking brake lever adjusting nut--someone may have tightened it too much. Second, get under the car and spray WD-40 into any space between the cable and the conduit. Something is likely binding, so you may have to try working the cable to get it to free-up. Third, try and remove the left-rear drum and see if anything is wrong. If the emergency brake is on, this will be impossible. Good luck.
