Does anyone know what the limit for small claims court is in Ohio. I saw on one website that it was $3,000.00 and a free legal advice person told me it was $5,000.00. Which figure is it?

Another follow-up question. I bought this car on E BAY from someone in Minnesota. I understand small claims limit in Minnesota is $7500.00 My claim will be close to that amount. Can I sue the seller in his home state of Minnesota for this transaction and would that be wise since a judge may be biased towards a local person?

The limit in Minnesota is $7,400

And no, a judge would not be biased towards a local person (at least, they shouldn't be since judges are suppose to be fair, objective and unbiased).

And for future reference, it is probably not a good thing to buy a CAR on Ebay. You would want to go it checked out by a mechanic first before you buy it used like that.

The car looked as advertised and mechanically was as advertised. It was not until I got it back and our local title department did a thorough title check did they discover that the car was salvaged or branded in the Texas before the previous owner bought it. The Minnesota Title was clean for the car. This make the car worth a lot less than I paid for it.
