Since the day that my sister's husband told me that he wanted me out of the house by May on February 7, 2008, I have gone back to the house and check my stuff but I haven't slept there. I am so upset at the way he talked to me in front of my children that I haven't gone back.. still all my belongings there.. and I am sure I will be back , I just don't know when... I have been staying with other family and friends for the past 3 weeks because I don't want to see my brother inlaw and my bedroom is right across from their bedroom.. however my belongings are still there and I do go back and forth to pick up mail and stuff.. but the question is can me not being there an x amount of days in a row hurt me? Can they say I abandoned the premises without telling them and leaving my stuff behind? Remember I did pay the rent for February and will pay the rent next week for march... :confused:.

My brother inlaw has been rude, arrogant, nasty to me and my children several times but that day he even cursed at me and pushed me out of the way...

If he lays a hand on you call the police. Do not go back to the house while alone. Make sure you pay your rent with a check or money order marked March Rent. In that way they can't claim abandonment.
