I have been using Mardel Coppersafe for treating ICK on my goldfish with not much luck. In searching for help I read that some water conditioners (AquaSafe) neutralize heavy metals such as copper, zinc and iron. Since Coppersafe's main ingredient is chelated copper sulfate... does the water conditioner neutralize the Coppersafe... making it useless against ICK?

I have contacted AquaSafe without much luck and haven't been able to get through the 800 line for Coppersafe. Please Help!

Thanks...

It has been my experience that copper safe did little good for ick.
The best product I have found to clear ick fast and effectively is Jungle Parasite fizz tabs.
They do unfortunately stain the silicone in the aquarium, but it is very effective.
Be sure when treating to remove the carbon from the filters.
If the carbon is left in the filters, it will absorb the medication before it has a chance to treat the fish.
Also, if using a product that stains, remove the décor from the tank before treating.
