Will a Honeywell RTH6300B1056 programmable thermostat work with a Heat pump?

Read page 6. It depends upon how many wires you system has and what they are exactly used for.

You have 2 stage heat. Second stage is the electric or gas furnace and the first stage is for the heat pump.
