Hello c:
If you have assets to protect, then you're better off hiring a lawyer to represent you. I say that, because you clearly don't know how to do it yourself, and you'll lose. WHEN you lose, you'll owe a whole lot more than they want from you now, and with a judgment, they can make your life miserable, and you'll lose all your assets anyway.
So, I'd beg or borrow enough money to make a settlement offer, or I'd hire a lawyer to do it for you. Course, if you didn't do anything, the lawyer will defend you and protect your assets.
However, if you have no assets to protect, then let 'em sue, and who cares how to file your stuff?
