I am having a hard time getting good fill flash results. I have a Nikon D200 and a SB800 flash. When I put my flash on TTL I cannot get my camera to give me a faster shutter speed than 15 at F8. I do not know if it is me or my camera. Why is this and what should I do?

I'm not familiar with either that specific camera or flash, but if you have adjusted it properly and the shutter speed will not increase, perhaps that is as fast as you can get it with that particular model camera/flash? Have you called Nikon and talked to them? I would do that first, or check in your manual.

I just know that my Nikon even when adjusted to optimum, it still has a rather slow shutter speed, although it's not an extremely extremely expensive camera..

HI. Start by setting your shutter to 125/s, expose for f-stop using the brightest light source, then toss your camera on ttl. Try bouncing it off the ceiling for softer fill... let me know if this helps ;)
