I adopted 2 children in 2001 after I married their mother in 1999. They are 13 and 15. I have since divorced their mother after I caught her cheating with other men. She has been with and moved in many other men since. She is also recently remarried. She has made statements that she only allowed me to adopt them for the child support. I am trying to find a way to relinquish my parental rights. The children were adopted in Arkansas and they live in Arkansas, and I currently live in Texas. The children don't even live in their mothers home most of the time. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Generally, an adoption is judged as valid as biological birth.

You can't just opt out of being a parent (which is what you signed on for when you adopted them) to get out of child support.

Get an attorney. A lawyer will be able to help you navigate your state's laws regarding child support, adoption, and what you are legally obligated to provide.

Having adopted them, you are their legal father and have all the usual paternal rights and responsibilities. The only way out is when they turn 18 (usually) or if someone else adopts them.

Sorry there is no way to get out of the child support. Even if you give up your rights you still have to pay child support. This is the legal obligation you take on when you adopt children.

So just keep the check book out till they are 18 at least
