I want to install Pendant light on each side of the 42" mirrored medicine cabinet (this cabinet will be recessed). How far apart should I space the 2 lights and how far from the ceiling should the bottom of the lights be? The mirror itself is not 42". The 42" is with the trim around the mirror. The cabinet looks very similar to this only 42" Crestview Warm Sienna Medicine Cabinet (http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=212105-36803-MC3630C1WR&lpage=none)

Also, how much lighting should I plan for these lights to have? 35 watts each or do I need them each to be higher. There will be other lighting in the bathroom. 2 Recessed Can lights, a light in the shower as well as a fan/light combo near the toilet/shower. This is a master bathroom.

I'm trying to avoid trouble down the road if I chose incorrectly. My husband will not be happy. Thank you for any help and advice the experts here can give me.

For something Custom, it is sometimes best to physically hold up where they LOOK like they should go, then make same height and same distance from center. Locate where they will not blind you or cast shadows. Use 60 Watts if Maximum, then put on Dimmer, You have light when you need it, and Night lights when you don't.
Nutone/Broan and others make Super quiet Exhaust Fans/Lights that are .3 sones, Extremely Quiet, If ducted correctly, you have to listen hard to hear them.
