In a previous post, I mentioned that we have a Carrier Weathermaker 8000 58WAV. The furnace will not kick on when it should. We took advice from here and another site, and my husband cleaned the flame sensor, we cleaned all the air filters, and replaced the batteries in the thermostat. We turned the furnace back on and it ran like it should and only did a few cycles. So we did the test to see if it was the thermostat and when my husband connected the red and white wires in the thermostat, the furnace went on, so by going with the test procedures, we bought a new Honeywell RTH230B thermostat and installed it yesterday around 6 pm. The system worked for a few hours and now we are back to having to turn off and on the furnace to get it going again. Any ideas? We do not have a LED light on our furnace so I can't help you there. Please help! Money is tight and if it is something we can do, we need to go this route.
Thank you!
