This question must have been around this forum for some time now, but I could not get a convincing answer anywhere.

I started here in the US in August 2005 on an F-1 visa. I converted to OPT on 1st Jan, 2007. I left the US on 4th Feb, 2007 and returned on 28th Feb, 2007. I started work and converted to H1-B on 1st Oct, 2007. I left the US again on 28th Dec, 2007 and returned on 18th Jan, 2008.

I have 2 W-2 forms from my employer. One has the Soc. Sec and Medicare and one does not.

My questions are:
1. Which forms do I fill? I guessed 1040NR and 8843.
2. How do I fill the 2 W-2 forms in the single field provided in the 1040s?
3. Was my entry visa F-1?

Thanks,
Aditya.

If you are married, you can file jointly with your spouse and you BOTH choose to be treated as resident alien, filing Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ.

If you are NOT married, you will file Form 1040NR-EZ and Form 8843.

2) Combine the W-2s.

3) Yes.
