View Full Version : Would it be rude if I changed the plans?

mafiaangel180

Ok, there is this guy that I went out 3 times with. He asked me if I wanted to get Chinese tonight, and I told him yes. I am feeling kind of sick because it was Mexican day at work... and seriously Chinese on top of Mexican is asking for trouble. Lol. At any rate, I want to hang out with him. But how rude would it be if I suggested a movie instead? (it's one that he showed interest in) One friend said it would be rude, and one said it would be OK. I kind of want to go with the majority on this one. Guys and girls, let's have it... is it rude to change the plan?

HistorianChick
Feb 20, 2008, 12:19 PM
Naa... that's not rude.

If anything, it will let this guy know that you're interested. You aren't feeling well and yet you still want to hang out.

A movie is a good idea - popcorn will help settle your stomach too! :)

(BTW: the ULTIMATE in movie food?? Buy a small popcorn and a bag of peanut M&Ms. Pour M&Ms into the popcorn. Ration= 2 popcorns, 1 M&M. Divinity! ;) )

I don't think it is rude. I think he will understand, no worries!! Have fun at the movies!

Definitely not rude at all. Like Historian said, it shows you still care enough to actually want to hang out

but if you can take the smell, you can always fill his chinese fix by ordering delivery for him and work out something different for yourself. Just a thought.

don't know about him, but when I get a chinese jones, it doesn't go away until I get the fix.

by the way... you worry too much. If you have to change plans, don't be afraid to talk to the person... its not like you were planning on adopting a kid and at the last hour changed your mind... its about a little thing... life, and mex food, gets in the way sometimes...

better to just talk to the person. If they go ballistic... well, then its probably better to know their temperament. Its just chinese food.

Lol I didn't start worrying until my one friend told me it was kind of rude of me. I guess she thought I was being some princess asking for too much?? I don't know. I figured she was wrong, but just wanted a general opinion on the subject. Lol you are right though, I worry way too much. ;)

Ok, so here's the low down on last night. I made him up a box of cookies, which was probably not a good idea seeing as if he will think I'm all domesticated and stuff. Muahahahaha they were No Bake!! Lol. Anyway, there was an awkward pause at the ticket booth, so I paid because I don't like to assume anything--besides I asked him. Anyway, no biggie. We watched the Bucket List. Words can't even describe how the movie went. It was too depressing, we should have saw Jumper. Let's put it this way, there was this scene: Jack Nicholson is laying there going through cancer, shaking and whatnot. It was really quite sad. And Ed busts out laughing!! It was horrible, lol. Annnyway, after the movie, we drove around talking, which was cool. At the end of the night, I determined that he was a good boy for the most part and would graduate from a knuckle touch to a hug. ;) Lmao!!

It was a decent time, we get along, he's funny and fun to be around. He even asked me to go with him to get Chinese. KP2171--you were right, I guess his Chinese craving isn't going away until he gets it lol.

I'm just hanging out with him and having fun. With 2 other guys as well but it's really no big deal. Not in the mood for a relationship after the last one, just like going out and getting to know people. There might be a few red flags with this one, I'm not too sure. But how much do red flags matter if you aren't wanting anything and if you keep your wall up?

Hey Rome, I did what you said... I went to my work meeting this morning, though the ex was there. I got all dolled up, went in smiling... and he wound up standing right behind me. Hmmm come to think of it, I wonder if he could see down my shirt from where I was sitting. LMAO!!

Ok, so remember this guy? He acted like he was waaay into me. And we always, ALWAYS had a great time. Last Friday, I got us tickets to see his favorite comedian and we got to meet him. And when he left at the end of the night he was making plans for us for the next night! When the next day came... he didn't want to go out. (This was the second time that he asked me to do something and was all excited, then we didn't get together.) Anyway, no big deal. Because I didn't want to rush things by seeing him too much.

But ALL this week he was asking me if I was still going to go our neighboring city's St. Patty's day bar tour this Saturday. I wasn't really feeling like going out. But it seemed he was excited, and it got me looking forward to it.

Well, I talked to him last night...

He told me that he wanted to stay local. I told him I would drive. He said "Nah." This is the third time this has happened. So more or less I told him "bye."

Why do men do this? They act like they are all into you, get you all excited, and then BAM! They just don't want to go out. Maybe it's because he says relationships scare him. But either way, I think I made the right decision. I can't see our situation getting any better if there is a pattern now. Right?

Romefalls19

I think that's such a bizarre situation... why make plans if you're going to cancel on them?

I know, it's totally bizarre. Cause the day before he cancelled, he asked me if I wanted to go see Andrew Dice Clay in Philly.? Bipolar much? I'm just not down with drama. You're right, I do see girls do this. And it's messed up and not cool. And I'm totally not like that.
