Hi All,

I was on F1 status from August 2005 - Sep 11 2006 and then my status changed to OPT (from September 11 2006 - September 11 2007) and then to H1B from (October 3 2007 to till date).I was working for the entire period on OPT and now on H1B (so have income on both OPT & H1B). I am an INDIAN national

Also I received 1099 INT forms for my savings accounts

Now what all forms i need to fillup?

Note: I was reading through the instructions to fill 1040 NRZ and I found something which says IF I HAD TAXABLE Interest OR DIVIDENT INCOME I CANNOT USE 1040 NR EZ FORM

So is the interest I earned Taxable?

Please help me on this as I was not finding any help else where.

Thanks in advance

You need to submit Form 1040NR-EZ. Your default position is that of a non-resident alien, because you have not yet met the Substantial Presence Test.

You get to NOT pay taxes on your bank interest one last year.

You also need to file Form 8843.
