New HP Pavilion with VISTA plays music CDs burned with Windows XP system of Dell Dimension 4800 which had crashed. HP unit will not play previously burned from the XP system Dell computer' CDs that hold digital photos. I loaded new digital photos from my camera to the new HP unit, was able to successfully burn these onto a CD and THAT CD was read easily. After going back to Best Buy, their technical unit placed the older pre HP unit purchase' CD into a unit with VISTA (could not be read) and into an XP operated unit (all pictures could be read.) So it appears my problem is related to the new VISTA operating system. What do I need to do to make my before HP purchase'burned CDs readable on my new computer? I confirmed after being on the phone with HP that the drivers were all acting properly.

Seems like this is a fairly common problem. Read here: Data that is written to a CD-R disc on a Windows XP SP1a-based computer cannot be read on a Windows Vista-based computer (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933486/en-us)
