Hi-Hope all is well. Wanted to know the name and writer for the following song.

I'M A FLAPPER BRAVE AND BOLD
I WEAR MY STOCKINGS ROSE
I EAT, I DRINK, I CHEW
I WEAR MY HAIR BOB TOO
I'M A FLAPPER BRAVE AND BOLD
AND I'LL SEE YOU IN THE MOONLIGHT

I can't quite make out all the words my Grandmother sang, but before she begins to sing she says that it's a song by Kate Smith. Any info would be greatly appreiciated. -John

I think you are speaking of an age when bathtub gin, jazz, and Charleston came alive in a whole new way, A wild era yet romantic one. The 1920s, hope sprung fresh from the battlefields of Europe.

The United States had been engaged in a major European war and had been on the winning side. The farm boys returned home, itching to live in the city. Flappers, as they were called, were bobbing their hair, rolling down their stockings, raising their hemlines and wearing makeup. Which was what made this era come alive, during these times and Charleston was the city to be in.

I have one of these tapes my grandmother had passed down to me because of my love of music. I haven't listened to it much as it was her passion and love not mine. But boy did I enjoy watching her dance around the kitchen to this upbeat, sassy tone of music.

I found some popular titles and their writers but I'm not sure if anyone of these are what you are looking for. It should however, get you started. I hope it helps.
