I am currently in school, after being in the workforce for a number of years. It's going very well, but trying to figure out my life plan is a little overwhelming (even for someone in their thirties!). I know I am going for a Communications degree, and I know I am going to pursue a job in Mass Communications, hopefully with a local radio or television station. I guess what I need to figure out is what my backup plan will be, should I be unable to find work at my preferred locations. I realize that a Communications degree is somewhat generic, in that it will qualify someone for several different fields of employment - Market and Public Relations, for example, but I really don't know what other types of positions in the corporate world would fall under a Communications degree. Can anyone shed some light for me?

I appreciate any and all help!

Here's a nice list of careers (http://web.olivetcollege.edu/CareerDev/communication.htm) you might consider with a communication degree from a college web site.
