Kenmore model 110.23822100 won't spin. I broke down most of the machine but can't get the metal basket off the shaft. Can someone help me out?

Have you removed the spanner nut?

If the spanner nut sits on top of the cone in the center of the tub then that is the one I am having trouble removing.

There is a special wrench (spanner nut wrench) used to remove it. You can try using a long screwdriver and a ballpein hammer ro remove
